Developing a Practice Routine That Works For You

My job here is to pass on information and stand as a guide while the student finds their voice and best method of expression!

Scott’s Bass Lessons Week 5 Update Video

Now that we have concluded the 10 week intensive on Fretboard Knowledge at https://scottsbasslessons.com/ I finally got enough time and the planets aligned for a video. I was meaning to do this weeks ago, but feline challenges had made this impossible. The Anthony Wellington Video is below:

ILMT Ear Training Exercise

Sorry about the string noise, it has been a while since I played Round wounds. This video explores expanding your interval recognition in music, and how I work on it on my instrument. I am working on a PDF to follow along with, it will be coming soon!

ILMT Practice Rundown

I talk about my practice sessions, what fundamentals I work on and the logic I use to organize my practice time! The post on MYILMT.com will have the Image file of the page from my practice book!Standing in the Shadow of MotownThe Pattern SystemScott’s Bass Lessons

SBL Fretboard Challenge Wk 6

Week 6 was about Pentatonics so I made a little video about some insights in exploring pentatonics! This is a video for Scottsbasslessons.com Fretboard Challenge! I made a handout to illustrate what I am discussing in the video, if it is needed.

Remember I too am still digesting this material. Here are the Sites of the Mentors where I gained the knowledge to create this exercise:Phil Mann WithContinue reading “The Frankenstein Exercise”

Deeper Down the Fretboard Challenge

Pushing deeper into the Fretboard Challenge at SBL, I am pushing deeper into Week 2 content: Continuous Triad exercises over three partitioned areas. However the video is from the Minor leg of this exercise, not the Augmented and Diminished variants, but I did provide PDF Files.

SBL Fretboard Challenge Week 2

Week 2 of the Challenge is all about triads over the fretboard, the PDF files are just the ascending but you should do them in reverse as well, ascending and descending. Exercise 1: Triads Alone Exercise 2: All Triad Notes from Top to Bottom Exercise 3: Continuous Triads
