Finger Positions Handout

Here are the handouts for the fretting hand, These are all based off of the C scale in order to avoid confusion.

  • The arpeggios are C major, C dominant, C minor and C minor flat 5, you should practice this without a metronome until you get the positions down.
  • Then introduce a metronome and gradually increase the speed until you reach a moderate tempo, 60 to 80 BPM, and begin moving into other keys.
  • Once comfortable with the positions and moving them around the fretboard to access different keys.
  • Finally introduce a backing track and begin getting a feel for how the arpeggios (chord tones) sound in context
